This is a very old inn and its bar and restaurant were middling busy. It is in the centre of Worcester with some interesting old shops and restaurants in the same road. The room was comfortable, though with slightly weary carpets and wallpaper. The bed was comfortable and clean, The stay was a good deal for what I paid. The staff were cheery and very helpful. The breakfast was exceptional with fruit juice, a limited range of cereals, a generous cooked breakfast, toast and croissants. I ate in the restaurant in the evening and it was sound basic cooking at a reasonable price with good service. The Greene King draft IPA was well kept and thoroughly good to drink. I walked from Worcester Shrub Hill station in about 15 minutes
There was a bit of noise from the bar until about midnight,
flexible staff, let me check in bit earlier ))) good service in breakfast room, excellent, very friendly staff
i think i left my phone charger in the room, the hotel could take care and send it to me by post )))
Excellent value, food and accomodation were excellent
Clean & had all the basic neccessities. Great location. Friendly, helpful staff.
Noisy at times, but no more than you'd expect from such a central location.
I can honestly say that the Bed was so comfortable, the rooms could probably do with a bit of modernisation but then I think that would ruin the feel of the 15th century building. The cooked breakfast and choice given was amazing, the staff very friendly.. The bar is very spacious romantic and welcoming, the bar an resturant menu was also very good with a wide range of choice, perfect if you just want to fall out of the Bar and into bed! The hotel it's self is right in the heart of Worcester with the Cathederal opposite and the old town and shops on your doorstep... Parking is also discounted to £6 for 24hrs and is right behind the Hotel. I used to stay at this hotel a lot when I was working in worcester and never appriciated it until now having taken a relaxing trip! Would def recommend this hotel.
The only thing I can fault this hotel on is the dark interior of the rooms, carpets and curtains probably need a bit of modenisation... But then that still does not take anything away from the lovely charactor of the building.
The fact that I had a double room on this occasion instead of a very small single room in 2010.bb
Nothing really as I only stayed one night.
it was very noisey, i would not stay again
Pleasantly up-graded to 4 poster room for wedding anniversary. Great location to explore town on foot. Nice bathroom & clean towels without foul smell of fabric conditioner.
Stairs had cooking smells & noise of kitchen fan. Room too hot & difficult to ventilate. Limited drop-off parking.
Convenient location. I was travelling by train and bus so it was not too bad to get to bus and train stations.Using both of these facilities very handy to explore surrounding countryside and its many picturesque small towns and villages, often by a river(Severn and Avon). The restaurant was not bad so I didn't necessarily have to search around for somewhere to have dinner in the evening if I couldn't be bothered. Worcester did have plenty of alternatives though. I had no problems with the staff or amenities at the hotel.
Very convenient location in city centre, friendly and helpful staff, as single traveller I often use this hotel as it is not too large and is very welcoming and not too formal.
The bathrooms in the rooms that I have occupied are old fashioned and not very comfortable,
the freindliness and location
Location, cleanliness, and english food
Shower hot water was not working in the morning
Frineldy staff and good food
The hotel was very central and convenient to get to. Restaurant was very good and breakfast excellent. Warm and friendly staff and staying in such an old building was lovely.
It could be quite noisy as it is in the centre and close to the road, however it was not really a problem and some noise is to be expected.
Pleasant place to stay for a female traveller on her own.
